Configuring your local system for DutchGrid
Welcome to DutchGrid, the testing platform in the
Netherlands. Before you continue, you will have to choose
which version of the Globus Toolkit (TM)
you want to install:
- Globus 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 (the "old" version)
- This version is most suited for you if have a need to
interact with existing Grid portal solutions.
On configuration for Globus 1.1.3 and 1.1.4, see
this configuration page.
- Globus 2.0
- If you are having a fresh start with Grid computing, this
is the way to go. Installed using a friendly packaging system,
it is a lot simpler to set up compared to 1.1.x. For those with RedHat
Linux systems, it is eaven easier using the RPMs from
the EU DataGrid project.
This is also the release-of-choice for collaborating with the Virtual
Laboratory project.
An initial try of the installation guide can be found
on the DAS-2 pages, specifically in
the UvA DAS-2 overview.
This page gives the required
details for Globus 2.0.
